Silent Type 2: In the mail

If you contributed to Silent Type 2, your copy is on its way to you in the mail (provided I have your current address). Here are a few photos taken by co-editor Brandon of the ST2 production line (for which he deserves all the credit. Without his help, there would have been no ST2).

Hope you enjoy your copy. I will soon have information about how to get extra copies for those who want one.

Notes:

  • In the copies I have already sent out, a poem appears that should not have been included due to a miscommunication. It will be removed from subsequent printings. It is "During the War" by Ed Skoog. Apologies to Mr. Skoog for the error.
  • Since no printing is complete without a typographical error, please go to the credits page of your zine and draw a copyright symbol © just before "2010" in the line "All contents 2010" ... so, it should read "All contents © 2010..." I will write those in to any future copies I send out but the ones I just shipped off don't have it.

I might actually swoon. Is swooning still in fashion?

But here's my question: haven't you been, like, really busy recently? Like, with other issues?

Amazing. Simply amazing.

Thanks everyone! I am pretty excited that we were able to get this thing produced. I really had my doubts at times.

Well DM, I did rush to beat the clock in terms of finishing the content prior to arrival of the baby, which I did accomplish by one day. From that point on, my friend Brandon pretty much busted his ass on all the printing, cutting, and stapling tasks, and I only had to toil on the assembly line briefly and make a few trips to the post office. I say this a lot, but he was the true engine behind getting this thing out the door.

Incidentally he and I did a zine called Uberhoot back in the 90's (here is a blog entry about it, although the pictures don't show anymore: http://www.tiny-dog.com/old/art_uber.html).

Mine arrived yesterday and man, is it purdy! Nice work, Strikethru. Thanks to you, Brandon, and to all the contributors. What a rad project!

Mine arrived yesterday; I stayed up too late in the evening reading it. She's a beautiful zine; an awesome job was done, congrats.

Okay, now we get to hear all the West-Coasters brag about how they got theirs first. Everybody East of the Mississippi take some deep breaths; it's gonna be a bumpy few days.

Strikethru, Silent type #2 arrived and I have to thank you for this impressive labor of love. It shows!
The photography and design provide a rich stage for the poems. And nice to see two Dutch words appear on page 54 (‘per luchtpost’)

Cheryl,
I sent you $5 and a zine for a copy, but didn't contribute. Did you get these? If non=contributors can buy a copy, please let me know what the price is. Thanks.

I also would like to know if non-contributors can purchase ST2 either through you or Microcosm. I bouth ST1 through Microcosm, and I love it!

Through the magic of forwarded mail, I finally received my issue.

Pure, undiluted magic.

Kudos.

Can you tell me how to order a copy? This looks fantastic. I just found some old typewriter manuals and posted photos of them on my blog. My mom always typed and I have a special fondness for typewriters--and zines.

I am still seeing whether Microcosm will be selling Silent Type 2 (note-- they will have Silent Type #1 in stock in two weeks or so). If you want a copy please write me with your address. Unfortunately due to production and mailing costs they are $5 each unless you contributed. (For the record I am definitely not making a profit off of this venture...)
