Typewriter pen pals, IPRC, #typosphere

Wait-- I meant to say "returned," not "retirned." And I don't think there is an "e" in "roguish." For the record.

Clarification: The pen pal correspondence can be regular ol' typewritten or handwritten letters, mail art or zines not required (just a fun idea if you wanted to give it a try).

Are you on twitter? Let me know, I want to put you in my Twitter list: http://twitter.com/strikethru/typosphere.

I did remember to mail you my Silent Type submission, right? It should be there soon. Yeah. I know I sent it. Let's just hope that nobody set fire to that mailbox before it got picked up. You never know. I do live near the D.

and yes! Typosphere on twitter! and mail art buddy...thingy! It'll be a good year.

and p.s., I just posted again, minus any kind of typewritten material, thus we are tied for laziest typecaster evar. not my fault though. All my ribbons have bit it.

This is a very interesting post. I think I'll be joining you both in the lazy typecasters league. Not having a scanner and only owning a pretty terrible camera is hindering my efforts. Maybe that is why I've done the zine.
I can't remember if you said you wanted one but I'll be sending you one, with the ST submission this week.

All the best

I fear "mail art" may be intimidating. A typed letter definitely counts as mail art, I think.

I need to check my PO box!

Ryan, I revised the post to indicate that typed letters were a-ok.

@strikethru

Talking of letter art (though it is probably best described as your packaging art) did you recieve that letter I sent you?

@alex

I did and I loved it! Must write back. Behind on my paper-based projects, my apologies.

I wish I was closer to Portland. Or, more correctly, that it was closer to me! I'd love to check out the place you talked about as type, letterpress, design are definitely weaknesses I could succumb to simply because of their nearness to what I do. I definitely see letterpress as a potential future problem to add to the several hundred fountain pens and the couple a dozen manual typewriters.

Very cool! I've always wanted a pen pal!

In other news, I have been spreading the gospel of Silent Type among the few Vegas-0based scribes that I know, so be on the lookout for submissions with zip codes that start with 89-.
