Silent Type 2: Call for submissions

Update: Note: If you are contributing, please sign up on the sign up sheet. ST2 is open for submissions of poems, collages of ephemera, and photographs. See below for details on page dimensions. Photos and collages can be resized if needed (although please submit them close to the target size where possible) but poems must match the stated dimensions below.

DEADLINE IS APRIL 1st, 2010!! Hurry!!!!!

Original post: I mentioned a few days back that we're cranking up the old Silent Type machine once again, for an all-poetry issue. If you happened to miss issue 1, there is a PDF in the left margin of the site <----- under the typewriter graphic thingy so do check it out (although the PDF lacks the lovely cover art taken by a few members of our very own typosphere). I am out of print copies, unfortunately.

Here is my blathering set of submission guidelines. Hope to see your poems in my P.O. box in the next 2 months. (That time goes by fast, so my advice would be fire up your pens and typewriters and start composing asap!) Remember, if you don't usually write poems, this is your chance to unleash your inner [insert favorite poet here. I'm partial to Gwendolyn Brooks myself. Who's yr favorite?].

I think that if I try really reeeeally hard, I can come up with something passable in two months.

Pretty exciting, though, that Silent Type is seeing another issue.

Great. I am literally rubbing hands with glee, like in the cartoons.

Poetry + Photos coming right up!
Still thinking about the double-pane panorama format...

Like I said elsewhere, I'll be sticking mine in the mail.

Send only one? Dang it, don't make me apply an Editorial Voice to my own half-started-but-promising-in-my-own-mind works...

(shakes fist at sky)

Lowwwwwrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Hmm, maybe I can do an end-run by submitting photos of poems... hrm...

A serious question now: what about paper smaller than 8.5 x 5.5? Like, say, an index card?

I'm exited about this. I typed my poem onto a napkin a while ago, do you think that will be okay for the mag? Maybe i'll type it on lots more and send you a selection.

But good on you for bringing Silent Type back.

This is great! I love all the enthusiasm from all the people in the typosphere. Even the ones who say they aren't poets are excited ; )

oh, also, for the pedantic metricheads in our midst (Hi! My name is Rino...), that paper size translates to 20.3 by 14 cm, or just a wee tad smaller than an A5 (ie, a folded A4) sheet. Better now. Reens
