Did I just compare myself to God? ;-)
My point is this:
SILENT TYPE IS DONE.
Yes, you read that right. Let's recap the entire history of this caper just for posterity. Way back in --oh my word, February-- I came up with the half baked idea to start a retrotech literary journal. With input from the typosphere, the theoretical journal was born (in software, they call this 'vaporware.') After many deadline extensions, a final date of June 30th arrived for your mailed-in typewritten essays, stories, and poems (and some photographs). Due to the talent and generosity of my friend Brandon, production-related shennannigans rounded out the summer.
And on today, Sept 20-something, 2009, the finish line has finally been crossed. (Well, they still need to be printed and stapled, that's this weekend.) On Monday, they're dropped in the mail.
If you contributed, you're automatically getting a copy (along with your returned original submission). If you did not contribute but want a copy, please send me your address at strikethru (at) tiny-dog.com. I will send out as many copies as we make (about 30), so be quick, or I may run out.
Thanks to everyone who stuck with this rather long-winded project this year.
Update: I'm all out of copies. If I've e-mailed you back, you've got one on the way next week. Otherwise, you can still send me e-mail since there may be a second printing soon. Printing went as planned today, and I've got the completed issues in a stack, waiting to hit the mail.

Careful, Strikethru, you're no John Lennon.
In other news, yay! I am as excited as I have ever been. I do, however, feel sorry for the postman, who will have to endure me harassing him until it arrives.
Wow! Congrats!
I'm with Speegle, I pity the poor postal carrier.
Sweet!
I'd like to see one of these but wouldn't dream of asking you to pay postage to the UK. Is there any way that you could get them on Etsy or set up a paypal button?
Jon
Yea, +1 for the poor post man.
I can't wait!!!!!!! Thank you Stirkethru
Congratulations! Nothing matches the feeling of a completed journal. Nothing.
I don't care what anyone says.
I do want one, and I'm sad I'm such an awful uninspired procrastinator that I didn't contribute.
BUT, excitement! At least they're done and you can brag to all your friends that you made a book with (possibly) strangers. Haha.
Rad, did you e-mail me your address?
Jon-- I will mail it to you-- I plan to put a tip thing on the site, if people want to contribute to postage or otherwise, but I am not asking any money for this issue of ST.
Oh, so Jon, I meant to say, e-mail me your address.
So...I *could* point out that I live just down the road from Strikethru and hence will probably get my copy first, so neener neener neener...but that would be unkind, wouldn't it?
So, you're God in this metaphor? I would chastise you on that, but I think I'll wait until I get a copy of the zine in my hands. Based on the initial pictures, I'm not ruling out your possible divinity.
