Silent Type journal update II: Mockin' it up

When last we spoke on the matter of Silent Type, "Journal full of typed stuff ™" your submissions had been read, categorized, and cataloged. Now begins the Fooling Around With the Design portion of our project. Behold the first mockup of the cover:

Photo credits go to Olivander (back cover) and Speculator (front). Swell pictures, fellows. I really like the way it looks. I plan to spend some time this weekend with a friend more talented than I in the art of document layout to assist with questions such as "how the *&^ do I bind this thing?" and "what kind of cover paper won't peel all funny at the spine?" Copies of this anachronistic, paper-based publication will be in your mailbox before you know it (as in, a random date prior to Sept 30th).

Oh, you had your doubts. But the thing is? Strikethru GETS IT DONE! (well, eventually.)

Love the covers! As soon as everything is set in stone, give us something to link to so we can hawk Silent Type online.

Ready to market, baby.

It'll make the drivel I wrote look classy!

Ollie: Seriously, though. Makes me wish I had produced something cover-worthy. It makes a body wonder how far the bar is going to be raised in the next ish...

*Mouth Drops* It's going to be perfect. A real inspiration for the next issue!! Mike the bar might be raised indeed. With Cheryl hard at work Silent Type will be Foxy and Flawless

"FoxyType"... the new anablogger journal for 2009... I can see it now...

(and it scares me.)

Wow, this is too purty.

That's a pretty high mark to set, Strikethru; the cover looks great, looking forward to seeing it in the mail.

Now, as a coffee table magazine, I'll probably ensure it's kept protected in a plastic sleeve. Don't want some spilled beverage ruining the fun.

Great job!

One quick thing: shouldn't it be "Vol. 1, No.1"? Or do you plan to eschew issue numbers in favor of "Season, Year"?

Word ver: restrin: the new prescription medication that give me the illusion of having gotten a full night's sleep without sacrificing any of my daily chaos.

Good suggestion. That spine stuff was just slapped in there for printing purposes, so this is not a permanent design at the moment.

Oh and, if you did not contribute a piece and still want a copy, let me know so I can estimate the size of the print run...

Oh, gosh...that is gorgeous! Lovely photographs, lovely layout. Yeah, I'm with Speegle...my dreck is going in *that*?

I dunno why I'm so nervous about this. I guess it's the fact that it will actually be printed instead of just in ethereal pixels.

But I'm really looking forward to seeing all the *other* contributions!

Looks very nice, indeed!

If its not too late, count me down for a copy. I found your site late, but its better than never!
