Paper solves all problems.
My kid likes to dump my wallet out on the floor and rummage through its contents-- good practice for the tween years, I suppose. Problem is, key items from the wallet sometimes end up under the dollhouse in the living room when they should be with me at the grocery check stand.
Thus, in a fit of boredom, I made her a paper wallet today. Try to do that online. Oh, that's right. You can't. Sorry, interweb.

PS: Here is someone elses's design for making a paper wallet-- it looks a little more official than mine. Might give it a try.
Update Here is my attempt.

Seeing this makes me wish you were in charge of designing credit cards and currency. Your cards are more interesting than the typical glossy lame cards out there.
Perhaps that is just what this economy needs: DIY currency. Maybe I will print these out and try to purchase something at the store. "Excuse me sir, how much is this in Strikthru bucks?"
Strikethru bucks, thats awesome haha!
That's pretty cool.
I made one from packing tape and a really awesome no long updated webcomic. But it's nowhere near as cool as yours.
What it lacks in officialness it makes up for in whimsical awesomeness. My kids are older than yours, and they would think that was so cool. Especially the parakeet.
This looks like a good thing to use between proper leather or plastic wallets, or for one's kids to decorate and use.
About ten years ago one of the welders, a man from El Salvador, at the machine shop where I work, gave me a wallet he picked up from back home. It was made of heavy paper and looked like the cowboy style wallet I had when I was a kid, with vinyl thong stitching around the edge. It was printed with a design and had a coin pocket,
It worked very well, but once it got wet the game was over.
Here in Maine- and in Nova Scotia- we make wallets out of fish-hide. These actually have a nice look!
Have you tried doing papier-mache at home? Lots of fun (but a bit messy).
My son likes doing that very same thing, except that after he extracts the contents, he deposits them into the crack in between the sections of the sofa. The very large and difficult to move sofa. Most of the contents are usually safely retrieved, but I haven’t seen my library card in months. Maybe I’ll make him his own wallet…
Also, what is the conversion rate on Strikethru bucks?
We're currently on vacation in Oceanside, Ca. I just fashioned a paper wallet using the instructions in your supplied link. I'm gonna try it out on the town, see how it works.
Plain white printer paper makes for a rather bland wallet; I'll have to get my grandson to decorate it up.
BTW, I was out on the beach this morning typecasting, using my Royal Mercury. I'll post these blog entries when I get back home; didn't bring the scanner with me. My wife thinks we brought too much as it is!

You are one cool mom! I love it. I would have thought this was the best gift ever as a little kid--I can remember getting in trouble for playing with Mom's purse.
Joe, I love typecasting at the beach. I've only done it once, but still.
Strikethru bucks are rising strongly against the U.S. dollar, last I checked. Make your way to the nearest currency exchange (or just print some out).
Hitz, water is the enemy of the paper wallet!
LFP, mom's purse is definitely the place to be for the under 10 set. Gum and money-- what else is there?
Everyone, commence creating your paper wallet. I tried the design I linked to today on a scrap of office paper-- pretty good directions, actually. As a technical writer, I find spacial direction writing difficult (that's sort of like finding change counting difficult if you're a cashier).
Word verification: Randalsh. Character cut by J.K. Rowling's editor.
I think I meant to say spatial. Which shows you the problem right there.
...As in "Well, isn't that spatial."
I was out this morning on the beach, this time with fountain pen and a center-stapled, homemade booklet made from Staple's bagasse paper, which I made up before leaving on vacation. Starting a short story, not sure how short or long it'll end up being.
Must remind myself to finish (read: start) my typecast entry. Is the title "On the Beach" taken?
Word verify: "galizeda": it somehow involves ancient greek female deities and japanese monster movies.
