First things first: I used a random number generator to choose the winner of the typewriter button drawing, and that winner is... Katzenjammy! You have until June 15th to e-mail me your mailing address, and then those buttons are headin' straight from my pile of ephemera related geegaws to yours.
If you didn't win, fret not, for there is another drawing and a new prize coming soon. (Why? "Because it was there.")
So, typewriter journal. June 15th is right around the corner, no? And you're still casting around for an idea?! I'll tell you what. As I mentioned before, I work in the software industry, where ship dates routinely slip due to the collective human allergy to punctuality and organization. I've already slipped the due date once, and I'm slippin it again:
June 30th is the last day for your submissions to arrive in the mail to the following address:
Strikethru (or my name if you so prefer, which is in the sidebar-thingy)
P.O. Box 182
Woodinville, WA 98072
This is the last slip, however. June 30th is it. This means one thing: you've got to start typing (or shooting) now. Because if you don't, you'll miss that deadline. Come July 1, I'm busting out the scanner. This might be the perfect opportunity for you to participate simultaneously in JustWriteMo and the journal.
Note: the spec for Silent Type has been updated with my latest rambles. Look it over to answer any questions you have.
Now go on, y'all... get back to your typewriters.
PS: Per recent comments on my post trashing Olivettis, I now am stalking eBay for a Lettera. Da@#it!

My sadness at having not won the button raffle is tempered by my joy that you are looking for an Olivetti.
Those Olivettis are irresistable. My absolute glee is showing, because you're hunting one.
I have half a page written!
Say, Strikethru, do you need a cover photo for the type journal ?
I am working on a short entry, but if you'd also like a picture for the cover- or some spare illustrations- just let me know.
Yes, I think that would be swell. I love your photography!
It wouldn't be a true journal if you didn't play a little with the deadline.
Happy Olivetti hunting!
I am, as usual, switching horses in mid-stream: came up with a different story that I'm scrambling to finish instead of the one I already have typed up.
Post pictures of the Olivetti when you get it! ;-)
Someone just got away with a PINK Lettera on eBay the other day. *^@%# Someday, I will have a pink typewriter.
Ok, I have to say I am surprised that no one identified the source of the cartoon in this post. Because it is only from the best cartoon ever created. Save for Peanuts.
I assumed anyone would recognize it from being from Bloom County--unless y'know, one is a loser who never read it.
This one is near me. Think it would be worth rescuing?
Yes, and send it to me! ;-)
